Alexander's (ALX)

Owns and manages redevelopment office and retail properties in the New York City area. Does not pay regular dividends.

American Assets Trust (AAT)

A January 2011 IPO, American owns retail and office, multifamily and mixed-use properties in Southern California, Northern California, Hawaii and Oregon. 

American Realty Capital Properties (ARCP)

A September 2011 IPO, American intends to acquire a portfolio of single-tenant freestanding commercial properties. Pays monthly dividends.

American Realty Trust (ARCT)

Owns commercial real estate, primarily freestanding single tenant properties in the United States and Puerto Rico.  In September 2012, agreed to be acquired Realty Income Corporation.

American Realty Investors (ARL)

Owns and manages office buildings, apartments, hotels, shopping centers and developed and undeveloped land nationwide. Does not pay regular dividends. 

CapLease (LSE)

Invests primarily in single tenant commercial assets targeted to high-credit quality tenants under long-term leases.

Colonial Properties Trust (CLP)

Owns and manages multifamily residential, office and retail properties located in Sunbelt states from Virginia to Nevada.

Cousins Properties (CUZ)

Owns and manages office, multi-family, retail and industrial properties. Also holds land slated for commercial and residential development, and provides leasing and management services to third parties.

Forest City Enterprises (FCE-A) 

Owns and manages regional malls, specialty/urban retail centers, office and life science buildings, hotels and mixed-use projects throughout the U.S.

Highwoods Properties (HIW)

Owns and manages office, industrial and retail properties in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

HMG/Courtland Properties (HMG)

Owns and manages a resort with a hotel, restaurant, and marina, and has a 50% interest in a restaurant, marina, office/retail mall and office building, all in the Coconut Grove section of Miami, Florida. Also has interests in Vermont and Rhode Island properties. Does not pay regular dividends.

Horizon Group Properties (HGPI.PK)

Owns and manages factory outlet centers located in 7 states, plus an office building and interests in two shopping centers. Does not pay regular dividends. Caution: very low trading volumes. High risk!

Hudson Pacific Properties (HPP)

A June 2010 IPO, Hudson owns office properties and media and entertainment properties in Northern and Southern California.

Income Opportunity Realty Inv. (IOT)

Owns office buildings, apartments and undeveloped land, all located in Texas. Does not pay regular dividends.  Very low trading volumes. High risk!

Investors Real Estate (IRET)

Owns and manages multi-family residential, commercial office, medical, industrial and retail properties located primarily in the upper Midwest.

Lexington Realty Trust (LXP)

Owns and manages office, industrial and retail properties net-leased to major corporations throughout the U.S. Also provides investment advisory and asset management services to net-lease property investors.

One Liberty Properties (OLP)

Owns and manages retail, industrial, office and other properties under long term net leases throughout the U.S. 

Saul Centers (BFS)

Owns and manages office properties  and community and neighborhood shopping centers mostly located in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area.

Spirit Realty Capital (SRC)

Formerly Spirit Finance, Spirit was founded in 2003, became a public company (SFC) in December 2004, and taken private in August 2007 by Macquarie Bank and others. After failing to sell it, it was spun off in a September 2012 IPO as Sprit Realty Capital. Spirit owns free-standing single-tenant commercial real estate facilities where tenants conduct retail, service or distribution activities.

St. Joe Company (JOE)

Owns and develops residential, commercial, rural and forestry properties in Florida.  Does not pay regular dividends.

Thomas Properties Group  (TPGI)

Owns, develops and operates office, retail and multi-family properties throughout the U.S.

Vornado Realty (VNO)

Owns and manages office properties, retail properties, and other properties throughout the U.S. but mainly in the New York and Washington D.C. areas. Also part of a joint venture that owns Toys-R-Us.

Washington R.E. Investment Trust (WRE)

Owns and manages retail centers, office properties, medical office properties, industrial/flex properties, and multi-family properties in the Washington/Baltimore area.

Weingarten Realty Investors (WRI)

Owns and manages neighborhood and community shopping centers, and industrial properties located in 22 states.

Winthrop Realty  (FUR)

Owns and operates real property and invests in real estate financial instruments including CMBS, real estate debt and REIT Securities.

W. P. Carey  (WPC)

Owns a $13 billion global commercial property portfolio spanning 18 countries that it leases to corporate tenants. Converted from corporation to REIT on October 1, 2012.
